Yeah, similar scenario with me. I painted very little up until now, and it was mostly representational. Then I started experimenting with Photoshop last summer, which led to a paradigm shift where I started really enjoying textures, shapes, layers more than ever before. So what better to do it with than mixed media? So last semester I went crazy with the concept and I'm still moving forward with it now.

ps. abstraction is my favorite in the whole wide world. :constipated:

i started painting out of school when i was about... 17? but if you look at the time line of work, i haven't been doing it for very long or very seriously until this year, so there has been a rapid increase in the development lately, which i'm very happy about. i also needed to come to terms with abstraction and to allow myself to think of it as a valid genre, i've always loved it and thought of it as one of the best ways of expression.

Just curious, how long have you been painting? I see quite a progression in your gallery, so it gives me the impression that you're fairly new at paint...? I really like your newest stuff though.
